Hardscaping and paver patios in Coquitlam
Coquitlam is our home base and our busiest area for hardscaping: paver and slab patios, walkways, steps, planter walls and complete outdoor builds.

Working in Coquitlam
On Burke Mountain, Westwood Plateau and Eagle Ridge, most hardscape jobs start with a slope. We level the space with block or poured planter walls, then build the patio on a compacted gravel base sloped to drain. In Maillardville, Austin Heights and Ranch Park, we often replace sunken 1980s patios and cracked walkways that were laid on too little base.
Retaining walls over 1.2 m in Coquitlam need a building permit and an engineered design, so we plan terraced layouts to keep each tier under that height wherever the yard allows.
What we build
- Paver and slab patios
- Walkways and stepping stones
- Paver driveways
- Natural stone patios and steps
- Seat walls and fire pit areas
- Outdoor lighting

Patios, pavers & hardscaping in Coquitlam: common questions
Can you build a patio on a sloped Coquitlam yard?
Yes. We cut and fill to create a level area, hold it with a block or concrete wall, and build the patio on a compacted base. If any wall needs to be over 1.2 m, we design around Coquitlam's permit and engineering rule.
How long does a paver patio take?
Most residential patios take a few days to two weeks depending on size, access and whether walls or drainage are part of the job.
Pavers or concrete for a patio?
Pavers can be lifted and relaid if needed and come in more patterns. Concrete has fewer joints. Both last when the base is built properly.
Can you add a fire pit or lighting?
Yes. We build fire pit areas and low-voltage lighting as part of hardscape projects.
