Lot clearing that's ready for the next step
We clear overgrown lots, acreage and building sites: brush, blackberry, small trees, stumps, debris and old structures. For large overgrown areas we bring in a forestry mulcher, which grinds brush into mulch on site so there is nothing to haul away.

Clearing in the Tri-Cities has to respect tree bylaws. In Coquitlam a protected tree is 20 cm or more in diameter measured 1.4 m above the ground, and in Port Moody permits start at 30 cm, or 10 cm in environmentally sensitive and riparian areas. We identify which trees are protected before any work starts, help with permit applications and keep removal within what's allowed.
Forestry mulching is the fastest way to reclaim acreage and large overgrown lots, which are common in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and the edges of Coquitlam. The mulcher grinds brush and small trees in place and leaves a layer of mulch that protects the soil from washing out in the rain. For smaller yards and tight access, we clear by hand and with compact equipment instead.
Because we also do excavation and drainage, a cleared lot can go straight into rough grading without waiting for another contractor.

Grade
Rough grade and stabilize exposed soil so it doesn't wash out in the rain.
Questions we get asked
Do I need a permit to clear my lot?
It depends on the trees. Coquitlam lets you remove up to two protected trees a year without a permit unless the property has a riparian area, steep slope or covenant. Port Moody requires permits for most trees 30 cm and up. We'll check before any cutting.
Can you remove stumps as part of clearing?
Yes. We grind stumps below grade or pull them out with the excavator if the area is being built on.
What is forestry mulching?
A machine with a mulching head grinds brush and small trees where they stand and spreads the mulch across the ground. It clears large areas quickly, with no burning and no hauling, and the mulch helps hold the soil in place.
Do you clear acreage in Maple Ridge?
Yes. We clear acreage and overgrown lots across Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, and check the City's tree bylaw before any trees 20 cm or larger come down.
