Tree removal and tree care that follows the bylaws
We remove hazardous and unwanted trees, prune, clean up after storms and grind stumps, and we help you get the right permit before anything is cut.

Each Tri-Cities municipality protects trees differently. In Coquitlam, a protected tree is 20 cm or more in diameter at 1.4 m above ground; you can remove up to two a year without a permit, unless the property has a riparian area, steep slope or protective covenant. Port Moody requires a permit for most trees 30 cm and up, and for trees 10 cm and up in sensitive areas, for certain native species, or on developing property. In Port Coquitlam a tree permit usually comes with replacement planting, and a large significant tree needs two.
Removals in Port Moody between March 1 and August 31 may need a bird nesting survey. Fall and winter are the easiest time to schedule tree work, and the best time to deal with risky trees before winter storms.

What clients say
Professional, friendly, on time. Clean up was stellar. They pruned away dead growth from my Maple Tree, removed a big ol' dead palm, did some transplanting, and a professional job of trimming a Magnolia Grandiflora. I will use them again in the future.
Questions we get asked
Do I need a permit to cut down a tree in Coquitlam?
A tree 20 cm or more in diameter at 1.4 m height is protected. You can remove up to two a year without a permit, unless the lot has a riparian area, steep slope or covenant. More than two, or any of those conditions, requires a permit.
What size tree needs a permit in Port Moody?
Generally 30 cm in diameter (measured at 4.5 ft) or larger, and 10 cm or larger in environmentally sensitive or riparian areas, for protected native species, or on developing property.
Do you grind stumps?
Yes. We grind below grade so the area can be replanted, sodded or built over.
Do you offer emergency tree removal?
We remove storm-damaged, split and hazardous trees. Call 778-235-0996, send photos if you can, and we'll tell you how quickly we can get there.
How do I get a tree removal permit?
Each city has its own tree bylaw and application. We check whether your tree is protected, help prepare the tree removal permit application and any replacement planting plan, and wait for approval before cutting.
